Kinesiology is a holistic mind–body therapy that works with the body’s natural intelligence to gently explore stress, tension, and subconscious patterns that may be affecting physical, emotional, and energetic wellbeing. It recognises that the mind and body function as one interconnected system - and that changes in our posture, energy, mood, and behaviour can reflect deeper internal experiences.

Developed in the 1960s, kinesiology integrates Western structural and neurological principles with the wisdom of Eastern healing traditions, including the Traditional Chinese Medicine meridian system. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, kinesiology explores the underlying physical, emotional, biochemical, or energetic stressors that may be contributing to imbalance within the body–mind system.

A key tool used in kinesiology is gentle muscle monitoring, a form of bio-feedback that allows communication with the nervous system and subconscious awareness. By observing how a muscle responds to light pressure, the practitioner can identify patterns of stress and imbalance that may be influencing how you feel, function, and respond to everyday life.

Kinesiology may support people experiencing challenges such as fatigue, stress, emotional overwhelm, sleep disturbance, tension patterns, difficulty relaxing, or repeating behaviour and thought patterns. Once stressors are identified, a range of non-invasive techniques may be used - including meridian and acupressure points, neurolymphatic and neurovascular reflexes, gentle movement, relaxation tools, flower essences, and awareness-based processes - to help restore balance, self-regulation, and a greater sense of harmony and wellbeing.

Kinesiology does not diagnose, treat, or replace medical care. Instead, it works alongside other health and wellness approaches by supporting the nervous system, promoting relaxation, and helping the body re-establish its own natural capacity for balance and resilience. Many clients describe sessions as grounding, calming, and clarifying - a supportive space to reconnect with themselves and feel more centred and at ease.

You might think of the body like a flowing river system. When stress or overwhelm builds up, certain areas can become blocked or stagnant. Through gentle muscle monitoring, kinesiology helps identify where the flow is interrupted, supporting the system to soften, release, and return to a more natural state of movement and ease.

"Honestly one of the best massages and healing experiences I have ever had. Janie is amazing and has such a gift. The studio space is so gorgeous, and looks out onto private bushland garden setting. The space has such a beautiful energy, calm and serene. You truly feel like your somewhere else on holiday. I have a few curves and was pleasantly suprised that the heated massage table as well as fluffy, new towels were not only generous in size but very comfortable too. I was able to relax rather than trying to balance on the massage table, enjoy the experience and just float away. Today I am feeling relaxed, energised and my head is clear. Once the massage was finished Janie encourages you to take your time, have a herbal tea and/or cool filtered water while you come back to reality in the stunning surroundings. So lovely not to be rushed out the door, it really felt like a spa experience. I suffer from insomnia and normally can't sleep more than 5-6 hours without waking. Last night was the first time in 19 years that I managed to switch my brain off, fall asleep easily and actually sleep through the night without waking - I'm just blown. Thank you Janie - I am looking forward to my next treatment!"
